Issues

Herriman is facing a series of challenges that can no longer be ignored or brushed aside:

Reckless Growth

Our city has become a target for high-density development, often at the expense of families who want traditional homes and safe, well-planned neighborhoods. The current administration continues to rezone land originally promised for parks or open space, creating a patchwork of overbuilt subdivisions with no long-term infrastructure strategy.

Public Safety Concerns

Herriman has seen an increase in violent incidents, including shootings, stabbings, and threats tied to organized crime. While crime overall remains relatively low, the nature of these events is escalating—and city leadership has been slow to respond with meaningful solutions or stronger law enforcement presence.

Traffic & Infrastructure Failures

Unmanaged construction, lack of road coordination, winter plowing failures, and poorly designed intersections have made daily driving in Herriman frustrating and unsafe. State and city projects are frequently delayed, with little communication or accountability to residents.

Lack of Transparency

From social media censorship to rushed rezoning approvals, it’s clear that transparency is not a priority for our current leaders. Public input is too often ignored, city meetings are hard to follow, and key decisions are made without sufficient resident awareness or engagement.

Broken Promises on Parks

Many neighborhoods were promised local parks and green space—only to see those promises erased by sudden development approvals. Meanwhile, the city prioritizes large regional sports complexes that benefit outsiders over smaller, accessible parks that serve Herriman families.

Priorities

As your next City Councilmember, I will fight for policies and decisions that put Herriman residents first. My priorities are clear:

Smart, Responsible Growth

We need to stop the cycle of unchecked high-density development and return to a model that emphasizes family-friendly housing, long-term infrastructure, and community stability. Growth should be balanced, not dictated by developers.

Strengthening Public Safety

Support for police and first responders must go beyond budget lines. I will advocate for visible patrols, community-based policing, and strategic investment in deterrence, prevention, and enforcement—before crime takes deeper root in our city.

Fixing Traffic & Road Failures

Herriman needs a full audit of its traffic flow, snow removal protocols, and road maintenance priorities. I will work to build stronger partnerships with UDOT, hold city contractors accountable, and ensure our streets are safer and more efficient for residents.

Restoring Transparency and Trust

Government should be open, honest, and accountable. I will fight to strengthen public comment processes, improve communication with residents, and ensure that every major development or zoning decision includes meaningful public input.

Protecting Open Space and Parks

Our children deserve more than parking lots and concrete. I will work to preserve existing green space, push back on rezoning efforts that betray community promises, and ensure that future development includes adequate, accessible parks.
